- Parent workshops / webinars: On topics rising in awareness — e.g. how to support reading development, digital wellbeing, navigating SEND assessments, understanding new tests.
- Parent newsletters / bulletins: Summaries of policy changes (e.g. new test proposals, attendance laws) in accessible language, enabling parents to stay informed and involved.
- Partnerships with family hubs / local services: Connect with newly forming hubs to offer sessions or referral pathways.
- Focus on equity / outreach: Intentionally reach parents in underrepresented communities (e.g. non-English speakers, lower income) through translated materials, flexible meeting times, community liaisons.
- Attendance support programmes: Identify pupils with attendance risks, and engage parents early with joint plans, supports (transport, routine, health) rather than only sanctions.
- Digital wellness / screen time guidance: Provide resources to help parents create effective home study environments, reduce distractions, balance devices.
- Parent “voice & feedback” mechanisms: Create structures (surveys, parent councils, drop-in sessions) that allow less confident parents to share views, raise concerns, and influence programming.
- Leverage research evidence: Promote your methodology using evidence-based strategies (e.g. citing EEF parent engagement benefits) to build trust with parents.
